Who are you?

BloomNest was founded in 2023 by horticulturists, landscape designers, and plant-obsessed city-dwellers who wanted to bring nature back into urban homes across the UK. Our mission is to make gardening accessible, sustainable, and fun—no matter how small your space. We believe that even a single pot of basil on a windowsill can boost wellbeing, improve air quality, and foster community connections.

Our team includes RHS-trained gardeners, urban ecologists from King’s College London, and sustainable-design experts. We partner with local allotment societies, botanical gardens, and community-garden projects to test our guides in real UK conditions—from damp Scottish summers to bright southern exposures. BloomNest operates around three pillars: Indoor Jungle, Container & Balcony, and Community Gardens. Indoor Jungle covers houseplant care—lighting, humidity, propagation, and styling. Container & Balcony offers tutorials on raised beds, vertical planters, and edible container gardening for herbs, salad greens, and compact vegetables. Community Gardens highlights co-op allotments, guerrilla planting, and school-yard greening initiatives that bring neighbours together.

We also host monthly “PlantSwap” events in major cities—London, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh—where members exchange cuttings, attend expert talks, and tour innovative urban gardens. Our data-driven Plant Health Tracker lets you log growth metrics, flowering times, and pest issues, then benchmark against the BloomNest community. By combining scientific know-how with grassroots enthusiasm, BloomNest is cultivating a greener, healthier urban Britain—one pot at a time.

Our edge

  • Personalised PlantMatch Quiz

Our proprietary PlantMatch quiz analyses your home’s light levels, humidity, temperature fluctuations, and your available time for care. Answer eight simple questions—window orientation, heating schedule, pet presence—and receive ranked recommendations of 5–7 houseplants ideal for your conditions. Each recommendation includes care sheets detailing watering frequency, fertilisation, potting-on schedules, and common-pest troubleshooting. The quiz also suggests stylish planter types and companion-plant combinations to create harmonious micro-ecosystems that thrive in British urban interiors.
  • RHS-Backed Care Guides

BloomNest’s plant-care articles are developed in collaboration with Royal Horticultural Society experts. We cover propagation methods—stem cuttings, division, air layering—specific to popular genera (Philodendron, Monstera, Pilea, Succulents). Our troubleshooting flowcharts guide you through diagnosing yellowing leaves, root rot, spider mite infestations, and nutrient deficiencies. Each guide cites RHS trial data and includes seasonal care calendars adapted for UK heating seasons and daylight variations, ensuring your indoor jungle remains vibrant year-round.
  • Space-Optimised Container Gardening

Maximise every inch with our container-gardening blueprints: window-box salad gardens, tiered herb stands, and vertical green walls using modular pocket planters. We provide load-bearing calculations for balconies, waterproofing checklists, and lightweight soil-mix recipes (peat-free, coir-based) to balance drainage with nutrient retention. Tutorials cover drip-irrigation retrofit kits, self-watering containers, and smart-sensor moisture monitors. Real-world case studies show how urban growers achieved 3–5 kg of produce annually from a single square metre of balcony space.
  • Community Garden Network

BloomNest connects you with local community gardens and allotment plots via an interactive UK map. Filter by amenities—tool sheds, water access, wheelchair-friendly beds—and view membership procedures, waiting-list status, and volunteer opportunities. Our platform facilitates seed swaps, plot-share arrangements, and group projects such as pollinator-friendly wildflower strips. Monthly meetups and skill-share workshops foster social bonds, intergenerational learning, and collective stewardship of urban green spaces.
  • Seasonal Grow-Off Challenges

Engage with fellow BloomNest members in quarterly Grow-Offs—spring herbs, summer tomatoes, autumn bulbs, winter houseplants. Submit growth photos and data—height, leaf count, bloom size—and earn points for progress, creativity, and eco-friendly practices. Leaderboards, badges, and prize packs (tools, seeds, planters) incentivise participation. Judges include RHS ambassadors and urban-farming influencers, providing feedback and spotlighting top performers in our newsletter.
  • Data-Driven Plant Health Tracker

Our Plant Health Tracker app lets you log watering events, fertiliser applications, and growth measurements. Integrated with UK weather-API data, it offers care reminders timed to local forecasts and heating schedules. Interactive dashboards visualise growth trends and flag anomalies—soil moisture dips, temperature stress events—so you can intervene early. Aggregated anonymised data helps our experts refine care guidelines and forecast pest-pressure peaks, benefiting the entire BloomNest community.
Our solutions
Indoor Jungle Styling Consultations

Container Garden Installation & Maintenance
Our field teams design and install balcony and roof-terrace container gardens. Services include structural load assessments, waterproofing, custom planter fabrication, planting, and irrigation setup. We offer seasonal maintenance contracts—pruning, feeding, pest control—to keep installations flourishing throughout the year.
Community Garden Setup & Management
We support councils, housing associations, and community groups in establishing and running shared gardens. Services cover site selection, soil remediation, raised-bed construction, governance models, and volunteer coordination. Ongoing management packages include tool-library administration, plot allocation systems, and educational workshops.
Workshops & Masterclasses
